Time would not permit to share with you how good God has been to our family. It is no secret that Amy and I desire to have children of our own. Unbeknownst to people, several attempts at adoption have fallen through but we know that God is faithful and that He seeks to give us the desires of our heart as we delight in Him. Before you get ahead of yourself, this is not a pregnancy or adoption announcement. God has met our desires in this area by giving us friends who allow us to treat their children like our own.
Brian and Anna have been good friends of ours since we got here to Desert Gateway. Five years ago, God blessed them with a baby girl named Cailyn. Right away, the job of spoiling this child began. From times when I would sing her “This Little Light of Mine”, to listening to her call me “Pal,” to the times that we have taken her shopping or have her spend the night with us- memories were made that would have not been possible if it were not for the foundation of a good friendship with Brian and Anna. Almost two years ago, they were blessed with another baby girl- Makynna. These girls are so dear to us that it hurts to think of this family moving on to follow God’s call to start a church in Oxnard, California.
Nonetheless, we spent Sunday afternoon with them. After sharing a Christmas lunch, we opened presents and played games all afternoon. What a time! I have a feeling we might have to make a trip to California next December if God does not bless us with our own children by then.
