Our day started at about 5 a.m. Packing up the Ford Expedition, Amy and I with the two boys of the senior class left our home to pick up the girls at another location. At approximately 6 a.m., we arrived at the home where the girls were staying to pack the vehicle. Just in case the picture is not yet clear, 8 adults, 8 duffle bags (big enough to stuff bodies in), backpacks filled with snacks, purses, pillows, DVD players, video games, and so much more in a Ford Expedition! This was us as we were about to leave for California.

Our bags are packed and we’re ready to go!

This is proof that teenagers can smile at six in the morning!

On the way to our destination, we decided to stretch a little and stop at the Cabazon Outelt Stores. That was a mistake! After we got done, I had some seniors suffering from “buyers’ remorse.” And here are the effects of “buyers’ remorse,”

Who are these mad men?

The poor pony…

“Look ‘Ma! No hands!”

A Filipino cowgirl?

We finally made it to Hollywood, California at about 5 p.m. We got settled in the Rennaisance Hotel, got freshened up, and went to Santa Monica Pier for the evening. We had dinner at Mariasol Cocina Mexicana., despite their beggings to go to the Bubba Gump Shrimp Factory. After walking around the pier, these scholars had the wonderful idea to walk on the beach. As the tide came in, the walking turned into wading. Let me tell you, it wasn’t pretty! Here’s the proof…

Definitely Hollywood material.

What were they saying? “It’s freezing, take the picture!”

If you think these girls are sweet, think again!

We finally got back to the hotel that night. I have never been so excited to go to sleep. It was a good start and my stomach hurts from laughing already. This is going to be a great week!
