The opening day of the seventh school year of Gateway Baptist Academy went off with a bang! Our school opened its doors to 53 students this year. Lord willing, by the end of the year, we will be graduating 5 kindergarteners, two 8th graders, and six seniors. Our enrollment grew from 40 students last year. And that’s just that beginning.
During the first week of school, we set aside some time for intense preaching during chapel services. Each day, we let the students have two chapel service- one to start the day off and another to end it. At Gateway Baptist Academy and Desert Gateway Baptist Church, we believe in the primacy of preaching!
At the end of the week, we had our first ever Junior/Senior Luncheon. The purpose of the luncheon is to develop better relationships with the leaders of our school. We had an Asian luncheon which included Korean pork, Teriyaki chicken, fried rice, and so much more. After having lunch, we played a game of spoons- and the truth came out! Nicknames were also assigned for the year. Overall, it was a good day!
Pastor and Mrs. Leversee joined us for the Junior/Senior Luncheon.
